Ashley Stone – My Story
I am sending this to my friends, family, and neighbors to let you know about what I have been up to and the direction that my life has taken. I wanted to take this opportunity to connect with each of you and share a little of my story.
February 23, 2008, was a day that would change my life forever. I had no idea what was in store for me when I went into work at Costco that morning. I was helping a customer set up her membership account, and she told me she was impressed with the quality of my services. She offered me the opportunity to interview with her at Bank of America for a position of a personal banker, where I would help clients to do everything from managing their finances to securing home loans. I was incredibly flattered, and of course I accepted. I ended up being hired!
I was fascinated by the home loan process. My boss eventually moved from Bank of America to Chase, and I followed her there as her unofficial apprentice. After some time, I decided that it was time for me to up my game and become licensed as an investment banker. I studied hard and was rewarded for my efforts with Series 6 and Series 63 investment banking licenses. Getting licensed made me realize that I would be able to shape my career in any way that I wanted as long as I had the perseverance and dedication. I was eager to begin my own career. So, with gratitude, I left my mentor and started on my own path.
My success in investment banking made me understand that I had everything I needed to be independent. I wanted my own house! After working in the home loan and investment industry, I knew that the rent check I wrote every month for my duplex unit was working towards someone else’s benefit. I knew that in order to create financial stability for myself, I would need to find a way to buy my own home. It was very challenging to find the confidence to purchase a home at the age of 21, but I was fortunate enough to meet a great real estate agent.
I first became acquainted with a gentlemen as a customer at Bank of America. During a conversation over a banking transaction, I found out that he was a real estate agent. At the time, I was working with an agent that just wasn’t up to par. I replaced the agent that I felt didn’t have my best interest at heart and chose to hire him as my real estate agent instead. One month later I was in my first home! I stayed in touch with him after I moved into the first place I could call my own.
Life was rolling along when I found out that I was expecting a baby! When Mia was born, I was overjoyed. Becoming a mother has changed me in an immensely positive way. Seeing my daughter assert herself and exercise her independent spirit gives me so much pride. In 2016, I welcomed my son Lucas into the world! Mia loves being a big sister, and it’s incredible to see the bond between them. It is important to me that both my kids develop independence and determination as they grow up, because I’ve found those values so important in my own life.
Through staying in contact with this agent, I learned that he had started his own real estate company. I took a position recruiting real estate agents. For these few years, I worked hard to help this exciting new company grow and prosper. It was here that I realized that becoming a real estate agent was the perfect opportunity for me to blend my experience in banking, loans, and investments with my personable customer service style. I made the decision to go for it and become a licensed Realtor®. Fast forward 6 years and now own a staging company in which I am able to stage my listing for free and work with other agents and investors to help their houses sell faster!
I often think back on my experience buying my first home: it was one of the biggest decisions that I have ever made, and I know that is true for everyone buying a home. It can be incredibly stressful if you aren’t working with someone that you are comfortable with. The contrast in the level of service that I experienced between James and the other real estate agent with whom I had to part ways was striking. I understand first-hand that having someone that you trust guiding you through the biggest purchase of your life is an absolute necessity!
I would love nothing more than to lend my knowledge and experience toward helping you with your real estate endeavors. It is my hope that I help make every client’s home buying or selling experience as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. I believe that every buyer and seller deserves personalized care and attention.
If you choose to work with me, I will always keep your best interest at the forefront of our home search or sale process. I will work diligently to meet or exceed your expectations. I realize that you have many options when choosing a Realtor®; I would greatly appreciate it if you provide me the opportunity to interview for the job. If you happen to choose another real estate agent, I will not be offended; I want everyone to pick the real estate agent that is the right fit for them.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. When you or someone you know is in need of a real estate agent, I hope you give me the opportunity to demonstrate my services and interview for the job.
